MWMF Presents Live Events

For many years, Mid West Music Fest has partnered with the venues that help us present the fest, area schools, the City of Winona, and other like-minded organizations to present concerts outside the actual festival weekends. These shows help us to showcase the region’s talent, build relationships with musicians and their fans and management teams.

We have also used these events to help further our community work and to launch new initiatives. Most recently, we started Echo of the Bluebird, a series meant to showcase songwriters and their process and stories behind writing original works. The name is a nod to the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, which has helped songwriters to launch new material for decades.

Loud Mouth Brass: Band in the Street

Friday, July 17 —  5:30pm-7pm in Downtown Winona on 3rd Street

Rochester-based Loud Mouth Brass crafts a tasty musical recipe, a splash of New Orleans and a pinch of pop music. From the top of its blue sousaphone to the bottom of its thumping bass drum, this band exudes fun. For Band in the Street they expand to a 7-piece and perform in a marching format up and down 3rd street in Winona during Dine Out Downtown, which is hosted by Winona Main Street and Winona Chamber of Commerce. The band’s line up consists of Becca Combs-Cawley (sousaphone), Ryan Donohue (tenor sax), Eric Stashek (bari sax), Jon Knutson (trumpet), Nick Novotny (drum set), and John Sievers (trombone). Don’t hesitate to get a little loud because Loud Mouth Brass won’t mind.

Audience is encouraged to respect social distancing guidelines and wear a mask for the sake of others in attendance.
